THE PERSON BEHIND THE FRAME
IAN BOTA.
CREATOR · PRODUCER · BUILDER
The work has taken Ian Bota from music and design to film sets, location scouting, business operations, and digital platforms. Filming Puerto Rico brings those disciplines together in one place.

Built from the work.
Ian's career has moved across DJing, graphic design, photography, production, creative direction, and entrepreneurship. He has helped find locations, coordinate crews and production needs, shape visual identities, and build the systems that keep businesses moving after the cameras stop.
That range gives him a useful view of Puerto Rico's creative industries. A strong idea needs more than a striking image: it needs the right place, people, preparation, communication, and a way to reach an audience. Ian's work connects those pieces, from the first conversation through execution.
THE THROUGH LINE
Different disciplines. One working perspective.
SOUND & STORY
His early work as a DJ sharpened an instinct for rhythm, audience, and atmosphere—qualities that still shape how he approaches a story.
IMAGE & DESIGN
Graphic design, photography, and creative direction taught him to make ideas clear, memorable, and useful across formats.
SET & LOCATION
Production coordination and location scouting put the practical side of filmmaking at the center: people, access, timing, and trust.
BUSINESS & SYSTEMS
Through Apex Union, he also works in branding, marketing, websites, operations, and practical AI systems for growing businesses.
SELECTED PRODUCTION CREDIT
Bacardi: Sustainability Journey
Credited as executive producer for the Puerto Rico production in The Production Factory's published project record.
WHY THIS PLATFORM EXISTS
Make the island easier to understand before the shoot.
Filming Puerto Rico is Ian's independent editorial platform for the people making work on the island and the people preparing to come here. It connects locations, production guidance, visual history, industry knowledge, and original conversations with clear sourcing and respect for the local professionals behind the work.
Ian creates and directs The Playbook. Its on-air presenters, Alex and Jordan, are AI-generated voices.
